I headed to Southview with Frankie today for combined training. He did the Novice 27 with 1metre jumping. It's his first time out jumping for nearly a year and he was sooooo excited!!!! He did a beautiful and quiet dressage test in his wonderful new Adam Ellis Style Dressage saddle for 69.6% which put him in to the lead and then jumped a very exciting clear showjumping. He was so happy to be out jumping again. And fantastic to finish our day with a 1st place. What a star. Lots of love for this special boy 😘
I decided to brave taking the new boys out for their first dressage tests with me. Ginger was doing his first test ever and tried to be so grown up about the situation. We did Intro A and apart from a few small spooks at his new surroundings like judges box and white boards he was s little gem (or rather large gem at over 17hh!!) We scored 77.3% and won the large class. We then went in the Prelim 7 and he had grown massively in confidence and was really swinging along, but we just need more practise with keeping balance in the arena for canter because he did a beautiful flying change at one point which unfortunately wasn't part of the test!! But he defiantly didn't disappoint the judge for a 72.5% and 2nd place. Not bad for his first ever dressage outing. And then it was Louis' turn. I had only entered him in the Prelim 7 because he had done a little bit of dressage previously. But in fact he ended up going in that test twice because he was some what distracted in the first test by the judges box and some horses playing in the field next door. It was well worth going in for a second time because his result improved by a huge 6.5% 😊 I'm delighted to announce my new sponsor Adam Ellis Saddles. He so kindly came to visit for the second time today baring gifts of a beautiful made to measure Adam Ellis Style Dressage saddle. I first sat in one of Adam's Style Dressage saddles at BETA in February and instantly fell in love with the deep seat and beautiful knee rolls, with the added sparkle of the diamanté styling on the back of the saddle I was completely won over. I feel like the luckiest girl to have been given such a beautiful saddle and can't wait to try it out in my arena. Adam Ellis makes a huge range of saddles from GP to Polo, Dressage to Racing, Jumping to Endurance. To take a look at his huge variety of saddles go to www.uksaddlesltd.com and they are only a phone call away should you need any questions answering. Thank you Adam for my amazing Style Dressage saddle I love it already and I've only been for a little hack 😊 I took Crosbie for the BE100 at Llanymynech today having got a late entry on Monday. I sort of wish I hadn't bothered now because I think Broadway had taken more out of him then I thought. He just seemed a little flat and tired. I thought he did quite a sweet dressage test but the judge was rather harsh with a 34.5 in quite a low marked section. Then showjumping he was jumping out of his skin in the warm up but got a little flat in the arena for 3 down. Such a shame because he has improved so much lately and he didn't deserve to have all those down. Then cross country I didn't put any pressure on him to gallop just let him go at his own pace and he jumped a very bold clear and actually inside the time. Think a few days off is needed now. 😊 What a weekend....it would appear I work quite well under pressure with potentially broken ribs!!!! (Having had a unexpected meeting with the hardcore a couple of days ago) I must have been mad to enter 3 horses in the BE100 at Broadway which is about 100 miles from home, only to find out there would be only the 3 100 sections running on Saturday and I would be starting my day with an 8am dressage 🙈 So I went in search of help and fiancé Thomas, brother Tom and Mum came to support. And my friend Caroline Webley put my 3 horses up for the night to take 2 hours off our journey in the morning, which also meant we could pop over to walk the course on the Friday night. Followed by fish & chips in Queen Wendy. My day couldn't have got much better with 3 double clears inside the time with Percy, Florence and Crosbie. I had intended to run Crosbie in the BE90 but couldn't get an entry so bite the bullet and after only 2 runs at BE90 I moved him up to BE100 but he gave me a fabulous ride and is showing amazing promise. Percy was strong as an Ox but with poorly ribs it's bound to feel worse, but he was so bold and loved it. It was such a pleasure to whizz round on Florence as my last ride, such a princess and so polite. Love all my ponies so much, they all tried so hard for me today and came home with a 2nd, 3rd and 8th. I'm now sitting as a passenger with my feet up in Queen Wendy while Thomas drives us all home. Happy Happy Bonnie today 😃🍀🏆🐎👏 Oooh and I was rider representative for the day #feelingspecial 😂 |
