Last Sunday I spent the day in the VIP Hospitality at The Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show with my sponsors Equerry Horse Feed and the rest of the team. It was a superb day, with fabulous food, the most beautiful setting and we even got to walk the course with Tim Stockdale and John Whittaker for the Equerry Grand Prix, as well as sit in the middle of the arena to watch the class, which is such an amazing experience to be so close to the action as the horses jump round the enormous fences. Another exciting thing was that Percy's new promotional video that we filmed with Equerry was playing up on the big screen through out the day and there were 2 of his pictures in the Bolesworth programme and the Elite Auction catalogue. Thank you so much to Equerry for inviting us for the second year running. 😁
On Tuesday Frankie and I headed to Cheshire County Show for the Senior Showing 2nd Round Olympia qualifier classes. It was boiling hot and the flies were horrendous but Frankie was a good boy in the In-hand class and finished up in 5th place. The same couldn't be said for the Ridden class. I think with the heat and the flies he just got fed up. And in such a large class there was so much waiting in the line up that he just got bored and hadn't got the patience to just stand still and switch off to wait his turn. He did do a lovely individual show but the rest of the time was all a little bit to playful. He'd rather go back eventing I think!!!

She was superbly well behaved and in hot company for 2nd place. She scored the highest walk mark, the highest temperament mark, equal highest trot mark and second highest confirmation mark to finish on 79 out of 100, only 3 marks behind the leader yet was 8 marks ahead of 3rd place. What a clever baby. 😁❤️

DAY 1 We headed to the Charity Horse & Dog show for Birmingham Childrens Hospital. I had husband Tom to help along with friends Kirsty Walton and Camilla Hardie. Supporters Betty and Dolly the dogs and loaded on Queen Wendy we had Elfie, Frankie and Percy. Elfie competed in two Dressage tests and was later supposed to jump in two showjumping classes but we missed those because Frankie was in his classes. But he performed two lovely tests for 70.45% in Prelim 7 for 3rd and 70% in Prelim 18 for 2nd. Frankie was entered in the Ridden Veteran class which he was 1st in and later went Reserve Ridden Champion. He then did the Open Working Hunter class which he was also 1st in and later took the Working Hunter Championship. He was impeccably well behaved all day, I was so proud of him. I took Percy in the Non Native Ridden Coloured class and he was super and gave me a fabulous ride, he finished 3rd in that one and then later he was 1st in the Ridden Sport Horse. He should have gone back in for the championship but I was already riding Frankie. All in all it was a really busy day and at times I questioned my sanity entering so many classes but we all had such a lovely fun day at a super run show which had fantastic prizes. Day 2 Having had a little lie in and recovered from Day 1 I woke up and decided I would drag Arrow in out of the field and head to the North Shropshire Showing Association show. She hadn't been in the lorry or had a bath and been plaited since last August but she was super well behaved and off we headed. I took her in the In hand Youngstock class which she was 1st in. She trotted round the arena beautifully for me and the judge seemed to really like her. She later went on to be In hand Champion along with taking the Reserve Supreme of Show award. I was so pleased that I'd decided to take her. Day 3 Percy and I headed to Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre to meet up with sponsors Equerry Horse Feed to star in a promotional video that they were making to promote their feed. We started with a bit of flat work, before playing round the showjumping track, then out onto the cross country course followed by a spin up the gallops and back to the lorry for some more photos. A real fun morning with a super group of people and Percy was a star. Day 4 Frankie and I, along with Mum, Betty and Dolly headed off to the Staffordshire County Show for the Senior Showing & Dressage Ltd Ridden Pre-Veteran class. Again Frankie performed beautifully and took 2nd place. And that brought me to the end of my busy 4 days of adventures. I felt like I could sleep for a week but instead I gave myself 4 days off riding and headed off to the other side of the country for a friends wedding with the husband which was a lovely way to finish my week, while Mum stayed home and babysat all the horses and dogs 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐶🐶 #kittedoutbyShires #TeamShires (Shires Equestrian) #FedonEquerry (Equerry Horse Feed) #treatedwithHorslyx (Horslyx) #saddledbyAdamEllis (Adam Ellis Saddles) #PhysiowithNWVP (Northwest Veterinary Physiotherapy) #clippedbythemasters (Masterclip Clippers UK) #trainedwithmirrors (Mirrors for Training) #travelledinstylewithElite (Elite Coachworks & Horseboxes Ltd) #PateyProtector (Patey) #floatingonFlexiride (Equestrian Direct Ltd) #housedatDodcott (Dodcott Grange Stables) |
