On Saturday I took both Florence and Percy to Malpas Horse Trials. It was Florence's first run since I fell and it was Percy's first ever BE100, so quite a bit of pressure was on. It was boiling hot and the Xc looked quite a decent track but my day ran very smoothly. Florence was very sweet in the dressage for a 29 then jumped a great double clear and was one second inside the time for 4th place. Percy was fairly settled in the dressage and scored 33.5, he was then really unlucky in the SJ and had the first fence down, he then stormed round the Xc like a pro. Unfortunately his fence down moved him out of the placings but 15th out of 41 in his first BE100 wasn't bad. Thrilled with them both and over the moon that Florence is back on form.
Took Dudley for a lesson at Alec Trickets today and WOW!!!! Alec is a super trainer. He tweaked a few little things and the difference was dramatic. By the end of our session he had us popping round a 3' track which Dudley found remarkably easy. And now he has discovered to use his front end as well as the back end, he felt incredible. Margaret his owner was thrilled with how he's come on. :-)
