A) Unload Mr Pegs and put the horses out in the field whilst Tom shuts up the lorry
B )Grab the last few things off my list for my hospital bag
C) Tom drive the final excruciatingly long 30 minutes to hospital through Nantwich.
I just kept my head down and tried to ignore any small talk my husband was trying to make. This is when contractions were reaching about 1 minute apart. I think, could be wrong but it was getting closer. For a moment there i thought this baby may be born in the car!!! But we hung on in there, even bypassing the road closed area heading through the Bentley factory area, over the brand new 4 short sharp speed bumps, what’s that all about!!! Seriously did they have to install those this week of all weeks. Never have I been so glad to drive into hospital!!! The midwives collected me at the door and told my husband to wait in the car until they had assessed me to see how far along I was, I think that took all of about 2 minutes of me trying to walk down to the labour ward when one turned to me and said she was just going to run back and get my husband. So into the room we go, settled me on the bed, idea of a water birth now the worst thing I could think off, no way am I getting off this bed until I’ve had a baby!!! “Yes” was my answer when I was asked if I wanted gas and air. Then I ask how I can now speed up getting this baby out, so on my knees I go, leaning up over the back of the bed, then the next bit in this story is quite possibly the most unbelievable bit!!! Having been in the room for less then half an hour I turn to look at my husband who has drifted off into the land of nod and snoring his head off “Are you f@£&%#g joking!!!! Wake up!!!!” or something along those lines is what was shouted. His reply went something a bit like “Sorry you know I’m not good at waiting around for things!!!” Angry doesn’t even begin to explain it, I’d already told him off for sitting there texting, you know how annoying it is when you can hear someone clicking away on their phone with the keypad tones turned on!!! So I gave him a job to do then and he had to hold my hand, well let me hold his hand!!! And pretty much the rest is history. Baby Edward aka Teddy, made a swift entry into this crazy world within about 50 minutes of us arriving at the hospital. Within 2 hours of arriving we were dunking our biscuits in tea, followed up with tuna, jacket potato and trifle. And in 7 and a half hours we arrived home with our Chinese and new bundle of joy to introduce him to Harriet, Granny and Grandma. The end!!!
No body can say I don’t keep to a tight schedule or pack my days full and I still can’t believe I made Harriet miss her second class!!! 😂😂😂
