Last night I had my first competition on Santi. Elfie also came along for the dressage at Nantwich Riding Club. Elfie had never even trotted a circle on grass, let alone do a dressage test inside the scary white boards with a car sat watching him. He was a little spooky at first but all in all coped really well with the atmosphere, even with about 50 cows stood watching him and a flock of about 30 cyclists going by just as we went into the arena, all dressed in their fluorescent gear 😱 he scored 61.2% so lots of room for improvement but at least we've got our first test on grass out of the way. Then it was Santi's turn, this horse excites me more and more each time I ride him and his trot just gets bigger and better. I stuck a dressage saddle on him for the first time the day before and this helped him open up even more. I was expecting he could be a little explosive on the grass but actually he kept his cool and was remarkably well behaved. There is still loads to come but he won on a 66%. Thrilled to pieces. Such a dude and a star in the making 😘
