I had always dreamt that one day I may ride to my wedding and I did. On Saturday 26th September 2015, my beautiful homebred Percy took me to church. He was an absolute star and took me perfectly the mile and a half to church. I rode side saddle and wore a huge princess style dress to which he wasn't phased at all. Several people played a part in making the day possible. Anne Dawson for lending me a side saddle, giving me a crash course in how to tack up and ride in the saddle and then walked to church with me on the day. Nikee Hudson drove the lorry to church and then walked with us to church also and took Percy back home from the church with Anne. Andrew Chadwick followed us to church in his car to fend off traffic and keep us safe. Tanya Hindley-Tait was faced with the drama of dealing with my hair and make-up having rode with my top hat on and then needing to look beautiful in the church with a sparkly tiara. Bless her I think she had sleepless nights over it!!!! And then there is Patey, who very generously made me the most stunning ivory laced top hat to ride in, and hand stitched beautiful sparkly beads to it and a tulle veil. It couldn't have been more beautiful and suitable to ride to my wedding in. It's was truly an amazing day and many people referred to it as a fairytale wedding. It couldn't have been more perfect. My bridesmaids Sharron Smith, Kerry Bucknall, Caroline Webley and Jo Hunter were absolutely beautiful along with my charming page boy Tom Bucknall and stunning flower girl Ellie Bucknall. My mum had been amazing through all the planning of the wedding and did an amazing job of doing flowers arranging, altering bridesmaids dresses, putting up with me and generally taking charge of most things. Tom's parents did a great job of getting the farm ready for our 300+ guests and also the amazing food that was served. Tom's sister, Lucy, was the general dogs body bless her, every day leading up to the wedding she was given lists of jobs that needed doing from collecting olives to getting photos printed, she was so efficient in getting everything done. Tom put up the most beautiful marquee with his team at South Cheshire Marquees. Mandy Roche arrived with a stunning cake for us and then the poor lady was asked to hoover the marquee to. Hero Douglas played the harp beautifully and sang me down the aisle to "From this Moment" from Shania Twaine. Ciara Doone-Rush captured the day on photographs and Cam3video filmed our day for us. There's so many people that played apart in making the day what it was, family and friends, and to that we will be forever grateful. Oh and I forgot to mention about the selfie I took at the alter...such a Bonnie thing to do 😂
