On Saturday I managed to head out to a little party on Percy and Dudley. It was just a local horse show, so quite different from what I normally do but for me to be out competing was great. I've not been out since my bad fall which was 5 weeks ago but I have been recovering and having Physio which has meant I've been able to get back in the saddle and start riding again.
Dudley went in the Retraining of Racehorses in hand class and ridden class and was such a good boy to take 3rd and 2nd, which qualified him for the Midlands Retraining of Racehorse Championships which was held later in the day as it was the last qualifying show. He went even better in that class and was 3rd in the ridden class. I didn't do the in hand champs as it was going to clash with Percy's class. Percy did the ridden coloured class and behaved like a little pro for 2nd place and also took the trophy for the highest placed non native, I think he found showing quite boring compared to eventing, I'm sure he kept drifting off to sleep in the line up!!!
Overall a long tiring day but I was just thrilled to be out riding and competing again. And I have to say a massive thank you to Nicola Moran from Nantwich Riding Club for coming to the show and staying with me all day in case I couldn't cope. Hopefully it won't be long now before I'm allowed back on the eventing circuit.
