A nice little mention in Horse & Hound for Florence after winning the BE100plus at Stafford, they didn't miss Percy out either, he had his name in the magazine to :-)
Yesterday we had the last Area 20 Qualifiers for the British Riding Clubs National Championships. This time it was Showjumping. Percy had to take on Frankie's role and jumped in the open which was certainly the biggest tracks he's ever jumped. I was thrilled to pieces with how he took it on. He had 4 faults in the first round because he slipped on a cow pat!!! Then in the second round he had 2 down, again one due to another cow pat and the other just because he got away from me a bit in a related distance. He showed fantastic promise. The Nantwich team of John Done, Amanda Dakin, Lisa Cadman and I won so are heading to the Championships. Next was Florence in the Intermediate, she was awesome in all three rounds jumping three perfect clears. Giving the Nantwich team of Darren Hegan, Charlotte Clewlow, Corrie McClellen and I second place and another qualification for the championships. We were supposed to jump off again for individual placings but because we had already qualified we decided not to, as she still had her style class to jump. Florence jumped an impeccable round in the Style Jumping class but we had a really unlucky fence down. We finished 3rd and the Nantwich team of Lisa Cadman, Charlotte Clewlow, Sarah Major and I won and got another Championships ticket.Overall a very good day but a very tiring one in the heat. Delighted that my little team are heading to the National Championships in September in 5 classes in total, we qualified for everything we entered. Its going to be a busy day :-)
Over the weekend I was competing at Stafford Horse Trials with Percy, Florence and Lynford. We don't talk about the naughty Lynford!!! He let me down on the Friday in the BE90. After a nice dressage for 34, he decided that fence 7 in the SJ was way to scary and went no further. But my two fabulous homebred horses more then made up for Friday's performance by both jumping double clear in their first BE100 Plus. Florence started the day on a 26.5 dressage and she led from start to finish. She gave me one of the best rides she's ever given me cross country. To win her first ever BE100 Plus was fab!!! Percy had a 32 dressage (could have been a little better if his pilot had remembered to halt at the beginning of the test!!!). He showjumped lovely and I had brakes cross country!! I was trying a new bit with him, because the last few times out I have really struggled for control, but the new bit worked. He wasn't too impressed that I was in control, so actually went a little green, but still jumped clear for 9th place. Very clever ponies and very proud mummy!!! Stafford is a lovely event, so well organised and a fabulous team of helpers and some fantastic sponsors :-) Thank you to everybody that voted for me for the Equilibrium Products Rising Star Competition. I am thrilled to tell you all that I have reached the final by being in the top three after public votes. With out all your help I couldn't have done it...thank you. The next step is the judges vote, so please keep your fingers crossed for me for the final step to becoming the Equilibrium Products Rising Star for 2014 :-)
Very proud of Crosbie doing his second ever dressage test tonight and out on grass. He behaved beautifully and got a 68%. He was so straight forward and not spooky at all. Delighted with him. I took Lynford out for our first event today. I was pleasantly surprised how well he behaved. He did a very pleasant test and i thought his mark of 37.5 was a touch harsh. He then just had a pole down sj and jumped a fabulous clear cross country. Two weeks ago he was really testing me when I tried taking him cross country schooling, so to jump clear was a massive achievement. Good boy Lynford :-) I did have to share this video with you though of our very green moment at the second fence...how funny :-) After winning December's Equilibrium Products Rising Star, I now have the opportunity to become their Rising Star for 2014. But I need your help to get there. The top 3 on votes go forward to the final which is decided by a panel of judges. There are 5 days left to vote now after the voting period got extended for a further 9 days, so please spare a minute and follow this link to vote for me:
http://www.equilibriumproducts.com/risingstars_detail.asp?id=1418&blog=137 It just takes a minute, once you've clicked on the link, scroll down to the where it asks the question - "Who would you like to become EQUILIBRIUM Products' Rising Star 2014?" Then click the little box on the left hand side of my name, then enter your email address and click submit!!!!Every vote counts as I'm against some big contenders. Please help I would love to take over this roll from last years winner Samantha Osborne who did such an amazing job of promoting Equilibrium Products and to win the £1,000 worth of products would go along way. Frankie, Percy and Florence would particularly love some new cross country boots, a fabulous massage pad and some Vitamuch. Please please vote and ask your friends to do the same xx My horses are delighted with their delivery from Horslyx today. This lot should keep them going for a while :-)
Check out some new designs from Equine Industries. I love them. Quality T's with great designs in fab colours :-)
