So today Frankie and I tried something a little different....showing....don't think we'll be making a habit of it!!!! Frankie thought that the whole thing was just one big prize giving 🙈 far too exciting!!! But we just about kept a lid on it. We were 2nd in the Hunter class and 2nd in the Veteren class.
Great day at Field House Equestrian with Elfie and Santi, which I entered through Equo Events. They both did the Prelim 7. Elfie was first to go in the section. He had never been to this venue and the arena can me a little spooky but he coped well and did a lovely confident test for 68%. Only to be beaten by Santi, who got 68.25%. Fab to get a 1st and 2nd. Next I jumped Elfie in his second competitive outing over fences, the 70cm and had a steady double clear for 5th. Very clever round a spooky course. I jumped Santi in the 80cm and he felt wonderful but just had an unlucky 4 faults in the jump off. All in all a good day. 😃🐎🏆

Elfie also came along for the dressage at Nantwich Riding Club. Elfie had never even trotted a circle on grass, let alone do a dressage test inside the scary white boards with a car sat watching him. He was a little spooky at first but all in all coped really well with the atmosphere, even with about 50 cows stood watching him and a flock of about 30 cyclists going by just as we went into the arena, all dressed in their fluorescent gear 😱 he scored 61.2% so lots of room for improvement but at least we've got our first test on grass out of the way. Then it was Santi's turn, this horse excites me more and more each time I ride him and his trot just gets bigger and better. I stuck a dressage saddle on him for the first time the day before and this helped him open up even more. I was expecting he could be a little explosive on the grass but actually he kept his cool and was remarkably well behaved. There is still loads to come but he won on a 66%. Thrilled to pieces. Such a dude and a star in the making 😘
A cheeky double for my big man Frankie. Winning the Veteran Dressage Championship with 74.16% and the Open Novice Championship with 69.42%. Thanks to Equo Events as with out them I would never have known this was on at Beaver Hall Equestrian Centre. Not a bad return for the beast.

So we stepped down for a nice run at Open 90. She was awesome all day long. Led from the start on a 27.3 dressage and adding nothing to her score. The event was fantastically well run with a fabulous course. And thank you to everybody that looked after me when I fell ill at the end of the day. The Dr said dehydrated and hungry but I wasn't allowed to drive home so husband came to the rescue bless him.
And thank you to Vincent Whitehead Photography for the cool cap and photo. Caps just my colour😘 #kittedoutbyShires (Shires Equestrian) #fedonEquerry (Equerry Horse Feed) #treatedwithHorslyx (Horslyx) #saddledbyAdamEllis (Adam Ellis Saddles) #EquoShowtime (Equo Events) #PhysiowithNWVP (Northwest Veterinary Physiotherapy) #clippedbythemasters (Masterclip Clippers UK) #EquineIndustriesStylee (Equine Industries) #travelledinstylewithElite (Elite Coachworks & Horseboxes Ltd) #trainedwithmirrors (Mirrors for Training) #floatingonFexiride (Equestrian Direct Ltd) #snuginAllStitchedUp (All Stitched up) #housedatDodcott (Dodcott Grange Stables) Been having a little bit of a manic week and only just catching up on what I did last weekend. Saturday saw Percy and I along with the dogs Betty and Dolly head off to Chatsworth. It is truly one of the most beautiful settings for events on the British Eventing calendar. I'm not sure Percy had seen crowds like that before but it didn't seem to faze him. Our day got off to a fantastic start with a 25 dressage...yes that's right my cow coloured pony scored a 25. A test sheet of pretty much straight 7.5's and even an 8 for our medium trot. In the showjumping he was super but jockey error by fiddling caused him to have a fence down. He felt fabulous across country and I think I pretty much grinned the whole way round but we had a silly glance off at the corner which was on a turn from a big table, he was just a little keen and landed running, looking back I should have taken a pull but I let him bowl on. Still I was thrilled to bits with him. What made the day that extra bit special was having a lovely chat to Mary King whilst walking the Xc and also Sir Mark Todd asking me in the xc warm up what fences 4 onwards were, I said to him it's not every day Sir Mark Todd asks you where he's supposed to be going on the cross country. 😂 Big thank you to my cousin Charlie and her friend Pip, for coming over and meeting me there for a bit of company and an extra pair of hands. Also big thank you to Lesley from Northwest Veterinary Physiotherapy, who for three days during the lead up to the event called by to give Percy some laser treatment on his cracked heel to aid the healing of it as it had been very sore the week before. You're a star Lesley thank you. And finally thank you to all the lovely photographers that have tagged me in photos from the event, thanks so much Lorraine Porter, David Shard, Anna Franklin, Tim Wilkinson and Robyn Tideswell.

Elfie did his first ever class and jumped a double clear finishing 4th, then just lowered a pole in the next class. Super pleased with him, what a little star. Then back in the afternoon for the 1.05m with Florence, she absolutely loved it, flew round taking a few strides out on route 🙈 for a double clear and 1st place. Then Percy jumped the 1.10m, he was jumping proper up until fence 10 where we had a tight turn back on ourselves to a big parallel in the jump off, he locked on to the wrong fence and got all confused when I pulled him off his line to jump where we were supposed to and got his knickers in a twist causing us to have a little diversion 🙈 jumped the last 3 fences perfectly. Overall chuffed to bits with them 😃🍀🏆🐎
