What a lovely day we had at Nantwich Show 2022. We haven’t been there with a pony since 2018 because of weather cancelling it, then covid. In 2018 Harriet won the Mounted Fancy Dress at 11 months old. Then on Wednesday she went back to defend her title with Ted as her copilot and they nailed it. It was Ted’s first competition which made it extra special!!! Winning the trophy back and a huge bundle of goodies from The Equine Laundry. Nikee stepped up to the challenge of wearing the official RAF Mess costume and hanging on to the Mr Pegs spitfire which was a bit of a sweaty job in the heat, meanwhile I sweated in RAF overalls 😂
Well what can I say about yesterday. It was hot but my beautiful girl tried her absolutely hardest for me. Having lost a lot of our more local BE events we had to come up with a new plan. I wanted to have a go at her first 100 event and thought Stafford would be perfect but having lost that I quickly entered the Cheshire Shield event at Somerford Park. It most definitely wouldn’t be my normal choice to do your first 100 because it’s an up to height technical track but Arrow has a super track record there so I bit the bullet. Dressage was nice, not her best having had 2 5.5’s for big spooks but the rest was pleasant for 30.2 to lie 4th. The leader was only 1.2 ahead on 29. The showjumping was most definitely the biggest track she’s jumped but she rose to the occasion beautifully. We loved one pole just flattening into a related distance but other then that we had a super round. On to xc by which point it was stiflingly hot. Never good when you’re in the start box and you get “10…5…4…3…2...”red light 🙈we went and hid in the shade whilst the issue was sorted then another quick warm up and away we went. All I can say is “WOW” this mare is something special. She absolutely ate the course up, was spot on at every fence, rode beautiful lines through all the technical combinations and didn’t look at too much on the way round. I’d decided that today was just going to be a schooling day more so and I almost didn’t wear a watch for xc, but I decided to and just look if I felt I needed to. But I didn’t want the pressure of being on my minute markers etc, particularly given the temperatures. I only looked at my watch once and that was just coming in to the last fence. I expected to be a little bit down on time so was surprised to see that I had 6 seconds left to complete the course and when I checked later we were actually bang on the 4.33 time. What a spectacular first 100 for us. 3rd. Proud beyond words 💖Martha Lily Photography #cupidsarrow #eventersofinstagram #baymare #sporthorse #eventinglive #horsesofinstagram

Picking up lots of rosettes for Harriet and also two Golden Tickets of two different judges for an end of year Championship and a further qualification for a big Northern Show. Super proud of my little girl and her pony 🥰 She had a 2nd in the tiny x poles WHP, 3rd Lead Rein WHP, 1st Best Combination, 4th Lead Rein Equitation and 4th M&M Leas Rein. #kubloxnextgeneration Kublox Aldford Apparel Ltd HRH Pony Adventures #hrhponyadventures #mrsmarni #minichampion

We just went for fun in the Fancy Dress in our RAF plane costume in temperatures over 25 degrees. Hot. Hot. Hot. They won their class and the championship and then went forward to the Supreme Championship with all the best horses and ponies from the whole day. There must have been at least 15 in it and they took 1st Reserve Champion!!! This was an amazing achievement in such fantastic company. I’m so incredibly proud of them. She scooped £70 in prize money for her money box 🥰#kubloxnextgeneration Kublox Aldford Apparel Ltd HRH Pony Adventures #hrhponyadventures #mrpegs #minichampion

That’s 3 different dressage tests, on 2 different horses and didn’t do my last test til 8.30pm which is usually past my bedtime. But you’ll be pleased to know it was totally worth it. Nancy was doing her first ever tests on grass and I was thrilled to bits with her. Even with a slightly squeaky friend on the lorry she plugged in, was pretty focused, unfazed and fairly easy to ride, giving me two polite and very accurate tests. In intro C she had 66% for 2nd and 65% for 4th in Prelim 14, which was only her second prelim test. There are a lot more marks to come as she is quite unsettled in the contact currently with a few changes happening with her teeth. But her rhythm is lovely and she is very accurate for a baby. Next up was Arrow in her first ever Novice test. She did Novice 24. She was slightly distracted as she can be warming up but actually in the test, I think because there were a lot more questions being asked of her she was very focused on the job in hand and was a total pleasure to ride. She got a 73.9% hood enough for first place. So all in all a very worth while trip out. #homebred #flomirozed #amiroz #sporthorse #5yearsold #cupidsarrow #homeproduced #horsesofinstagram
