Dudley had his first event in about 8 weeks today at Smallwood Equestrian Centre organised by Delamere Forest Riding Club. The club made a wonderful job of it and the cross country courses were good testing tracks. Dudley was in the Intermediate 90cm class, so a bit bigger then he was used to. He was quite pleased to be out but contained his excitement. We had an ok dressage of 35.5. The Showjumping had slightly testing, wet ground but I was pleased with how he jumped. He had a real good look at a spooky filler at fence 2 but jumped it and had it down and he was a little unbalanced then to the planks at fence 3 and tapped that one out to, but after that jumped the rest of the course in fantastic style. The cross country asked several questions with a step into water, skinnies and a huge drop but he was awesome and cruised round inside the time to finish 4th. What a little star. It was also my first event since my fall and I'm pleased to say I wasn't too worried about doing it, after such a great Xc schooling session on Thursday. :-)
