I'm a very proud mummy tonight. I took Dudley for his first ever proper party, with other horses and everything!!!! It was clear round evening at Weaver Equestrian. He did come off the trailer a little bit like we were maybe at a race track and it did take a few attempts to get on but he soon chilled out. After a good walk round and once the arena had quietened down a bit, I schooled him round and warmed him up over some fences. He was remarkably laid back. Then we jumped 3 rounds at about 70cm. We had a little stop in the first round but left all the fences up. The second round we were clear (and got his first ever rosette!!!). The third round had more fillers in and he jumped round with just one fence down until we got to a spooky skinny castle filler at the last fence which he found rather spooky but we did pop over it a few times in the end. Overall I'm absolutely thrilled to bits with his performance!!!!! He is pretty sure that he's just won some Grand Prix at Hickstead or something!!!!
